A+E Networks is truly a global media company with joint ventures and channels all over the world. In addition to its New York headquarters, A+E Networks has offices in London and Singapore.
The International division oversees 50 channels around the world, reaching more than 300 million subscribers in over 150 countries in 37 languages.
About Time were approached by the team at A&E to create a dynamic and engaging creative treatment for a new show called Great Escapes which airs on History Channel in December 2016. Deliver fast paced and impactful title graphics using imagery and footage of the dangerous characters within the programme, allowing us to transition through the promo and into different scenarios related to the features.
The About Time creative team generated various moodboards and ideas which nodded to the high octane chase between federal agents and the bad guys. Following the trail of deception and crime from place to place. This gave us the idea of using a simple white line throughout the promo as a mechanic that allowed us to not only show the scenario but also follow the line to transition through to the next title graphics.
After generating this idea, a detailed storyboard was created for the various scenes for approval and then into production for a 15’, 20’ and 30’ version in English.
Then came the 6 language changes and various end titles for the different show times and teaser end frames.
As you can see, the results provide a hard hitting, fast paced promo which has a strong hook at the end. I know the brief made us want to watch the show!! I suggest you do the same.
